UAE-based ADNOC LNG has said that its new LNG plant in Fujairah is moving to the design stage, with McDermott International, Ltd appointed as the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work contractor amid growing global demand for natural gas.
The 9.6 MMT/Y LNG project comprising two 4.8 MMT/Y LNG trains and it is set to become one of the world’s lowest carbon intensity LNG production facilities through incorporating new technologies and running on clean power, ADNOC said, adding that the design stage is expected to be followed by the award of an EPC contract in 2023.
According to the
Global LNG Database, four engineering firms (Fluor, McDermott, Technip Energies and KBR) had submitted their bids for the Fujairah LNG project’s FEED work contract which is likely to be done by the end of 2022 with the final investment decision (FID) on the project expected in the first quarter of 2023.
Last year, ADNOC LNG had initiated feasibility and conceptual studies work on the proposed project.
