Santos has said that its Barossa gas and condensate project to backfill Darwin LNG [for up to 20 years] is 88.3% complete as of January 2025 and “remains on track for first production in the third quarter of 2025 within current cost guidance.”
The FPSO integration and pre-commissioning activities continued as planned in Singapore, the Australian operator said, adding that final drilling activities were completed on the second and third wells of the six well program and “the fourth well was partially drilled and suspended for return in 2025.”
The Darwin pipeline duplication is 71.4% complete with the beach pull to Darwin LNG completed and over 30-Km of pipeline installed.
“Santos continues to expand its LNG production capacity to meet strong customer demand, with volumes set to increase significantly once Barossa is online in 2025,” said Santos CEO Kevin Gallagher.
