Cheniere has said that it anticipates to receive all remaining necessary regulatory approvals to be able to take final investment decision (FID) on the Corpus Christi LNG plant’s new expansion project (T8&9) in 2025.
Cheniere has said that it anticipates to receive all remaining necessary regulatory approvals to be able to take final investment decision (FID) on the Corpus Christi LNG plant’s new expansion project (T8&9) in 2025.
According to the
Global LNG Database®, the US-based company plans to build two additional midscale LNG production Trains with an expected total production capacity of approximately 3 MMT/Y. (CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project) adjacent to the CCL Stage 3 Project.
Cheniere has already received authorization from the US FERC to site, construct and operate the project as it has filed an application with the DOE requesting authorization to export LNG to non-FTA countries. In July 2023, it received authorization from the DOE to export LNG to FTA countries.
Cheniere Energy has also said that its Corpus Christi LNG 3rd stage project (CCL Stage 3) is 82.5% complete (engineering 98.2%, procurement 99.8%, subcontract work 89.8% and construction 53.7%).
The CCL Stage 3 project is a fully permitted project consisting of up to 7 mid-scale trains with a total production capacity of more than 10 MMT/Y.
