Global LNG Info releases its Global LNG Database’s update - Nov. 2020

By adding new LNG imports projects up-to-date information of 429 LNG projects in the world are available in the Global LNG Database®.
Global LNG Info has released the last update of the Global LNG Database®. By adding five new LNG imports projects planned/proposed to be built in China, Vietnam and Malaysia, up-to-date information of 429 LNG projects in the world are available in the Global LNG Database® including 140 on/offshore liquefaction facilities (on-stream: 53, under-construction: 14, planned: 51, under-study/proposed: 22) and also 289 on/offshore receiving & regasification facilities (on-stream: 145, under-construction: 40, planned: 81, under-study/proposed: 23).

Some recent developments quoted from the Global LNG Database®:

* Equinor revealed that surveys of the damage after the fire at Snohvit (Hammerfest) LNG in September indicates that the LNG plant will be closed for up to 12 months for repairs. In addition to damage caused by the fire on the air intake on one of the plant's five power turbines, large amounts of seawater from the extinguishing have damaged other auxiliary systems such as electrical equipment and cables in the plant.

* Woodfibre LNG has been granted a permit to postpone the start of its project’s construction to October 2025. The initial deadline by which the project should have been substantially started was October 2020. However, in March Woodfibre LNG requested a five-year extension.

* Tango FLNG agreements between Exmar and YPF have been terminated and Exmar’s FLNG is now available for other projects.

|

* Exxon Neftegaz has entered into a contract for FEED of the Far Eastern LNG project with TechnipFMC and JGC.

|

* ENI has reiterated that the Coral South FLNG project remains on track to produce its first cargo in 2022, despite the coronavirus pandemic. The FLNG unit planned to sail away from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in the last quarter of 2021.

* Guangzhou Gas said that its LNG import terminal to begin operations by the second half of 2022 as it would begin issuing tenders to buy over 1 MMT/Y of LNG for the medium and long term in 2021.

|

* ExxonMobil and JERA have teamed up to develop an LNG-to-power project in Vietnam as the companies signed a memorandum of understanding with Hai Phong People’s Committee under which the trio aims to work together on a potential integrated LNG-to-power project in Hai Phong.
