Cheniere Energy announced that the Sabin Pass LNG plant’s under-construction sixth train (T6) is about 89.6% complete and it expected to enter commercial operations in the first half of 2022. It was expected that the 4.5 MMT/Y train to start producing first LNG later this year.
According to the Global LNG Database®, Cheniere Energy has already received permission to take steps needed to put the Sabine Pass LNG export plant’s T6 into service as the US FERC has approved Cheniere's request to introduce gas and commission the train’s fuel gas system.
Cheniere also continues to develop the third expansion plan at its Corpus Christi LNG export plant in Texas. "We expect to commence construction of the Corpus Christi Stage 3 project upon, among other things, entering into an engineering, procurement, and construction contract and additional commercial agreements, and obtaining adequate financing." The third expansion project is aimed to produce over 9.5 MMT/Y of LNG.
Meanwhile, Cheniere has reported consolidated adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of approximately $1.0 billion and $2.5 billion for the three and six months ended June 30, respectively. It has posted a net loss of $329 million for the second quarter.
