Scarborough-Pluto LNG (T2) project is 23% complete, first LNG cargo 2026

Woodside has said that its Scarborough gas field development and Pluto LNG expansion (Train 2) projects “combined were 23% complete” by the end of October and “remain on track for targeted first LNG cargo in 2026”.

According to the Global LNG Database®:
* The Woodside-operated Scarborough's gas production to be allocated to: Pluto Train 2: for producing 5 MMT/Y of LNG; Pluto Train 1: for producing 3 MMT/Y of LNG; and Domestic gas: 250 TJ/day.
** Scarborough gas field development consists of up to 13 subsea wells drilled over the life of the Scarborough gas field and the installation of a semi-submersible FPU which provides gasprocessing including gas separation, dehydration and compression. A new 430-Km gaspipeline will transport drygas from the FPU to the Woodside-operated Pluto LNG export facility.
*** McDermott International, Ltd has been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) services of the Scarborough gas development project’s FPU.
**** Saipem has been awarded a contract for the feedgas trunkline coating and installation of the pipeline that will connect the Scarborough gasfield in the Carnarvon Basin with the under-development Pluto LNG plant’s second train.

Woodside has announced the following latest developments for the Scarborough and Pluto Train 2 projects in its today investor briefing:
* For the Pluto LNG onshore sections, site construction works started and progressing as construction accommodation village in Karratha, W. Australia is operational and Train 1 modifications contractor selection targeted for the first half of 2023.
** Trunkline tracking is ahead of schedule as line pipe manufacturing is ongoing.
*** Floating production unit (FPU)’s procurement program “well advanced” as 90% of tagged equipment ordered and first steel cut and fabrication commenced.
**** For the Subsea, umbilical, risers and flowlines (SURF), Xmas trees delivered and in warehouse and fabrication of the subsea flowlines is ongoing.
