Cheniere Energy has said that its Corpus Christi LNG 3rd stage project (CCL Stage 3) progress ahead of schedule and is 44.1% complete (engineering 74.1%, procurement 63.3%, subcontracts 55.9%, construction 7.5%).
The project’s first LNG expected by the end of next year with substantial completion forecasted for the second and third quarter of 2025 and first half of 2026.

According to the Global LNG Database®, the CCL Stage 3 project is a fully permitted project consisting of up to 7 midscale trains, each with liquefaction capacity of about 1.49 MMT/Y of LNG with a total production capacity of more than 10 MMT/Y. “The project is commercially underpinned by long-term agreements with creditworthy counterparties.”
“The Corpus Christi Stage III Project commences as global LNG market fundamentals highlight the criticality of natural gas in the global energy mix. We look forward to providing our customers with reliable and flexible LNG from the Corpus Christi Stage III Project starting in 2025,” Cheniere remarked.

Cheniere made a positive FID on the CCL Stage 3 project in June 2022 and issued full notice to proceed (FNTP) with construction to Bechtel Corporation as it had entered into a lumpsum, turnkey, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with the major engineering company for the project in March 2022.
Last year, Chart Industries received the FNTP for its IPMSR® gas liquefaction process and equipment activities to be used in CCL Stage 3 project. The orders were received from the project’s main EPC contractor Bechtel.
