Mozambique Rovuma LNG project to enter FEED stage in 2024

ExxonMobil has said that Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique planned to award front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract in 2024 as the project is on track to gain final approval in 2025.
ExxonMobil has said that Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique planned to award front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract in 2024 as the project is on track to gain final approval in 2025.

 

According to the Global LNG Database®, ExxonMobil has issued a tender for an expression of interest for the Rovuma LNG project’s FEED service. Saipem, Bechtel and JGC-Technip Energies JV contractors were racing for wining onshore liquefaction facilities’ FEED work and likely subsequent construction contract for the project.
The project's original EPC contract which was awarded in October 2019 to a consortium made up of JCC, Fluor and TechnipFMC JV, has been annulled.

 

ExxonMobil also confirmed that it has raised planned capacity at the Mozambique’s LNG project to up to 18 MMT/Y from previous scheme of 15.2 MMT/Y as under the original plans, the project was include two 7.6 MMT/Y trains, which have now been changed to multiple 1.5 MMT/Y modular trains.

 

Rovuma LNG project’s shareholders are Eni East Africa (Eni-ExxonMobil-CNPC JV) 70%, ENH 10%, Kogas 10% and Galp Energia 10%.
