Air Products has announced its dual mixed refrigerant LNG process technology (AP-DMR™) and equipment, which has been deployed at the Coral South (Sul) FLNG plant in Mozambique, has “successfully” passed its performance test achieving LNG production "above" 3.4 MMT/Y.
Air Products has also supplied the project with two proprietary coil-wound main cryogenic heat exchangers (CWHEs), one for precooling and one for liquefaction within the facility.

According to the Global LNG Database®, the first LNG cargo of the Mozambique’s Coral South FLNG project, carried by the 174,000-CM British Sponsor ship, berthed at Bilbao LNG imports terminal in Spain in December 2022.
BP has loaded the cargo from the FLNG facility. Under its long-term contract, the UK-based company will purchase 100% of LNG output from the project.
The ENI-operated Coral South FLNG project’s main EPC contractors are Technip Energies, JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries.

“AP-DMR's superior process efficiency combined with the use of aeroderivative machinery translates to a lower carbon intensity than all other LNG processes in floating service,” the US-based LNG technology provider has remarked, adding that it has already supplied liquefaction technology and equipment to four of FLNG projects which include Shell Prelude, Petronas FLNG Satu, Petronas FLNG Dua, and Coral South FLNG.
Coral South FLNG is the second largest Floating LNG production facility in the world after 3.6 MMT/Y Shell-operated Prelude FLNG in Australia.
