Louisiana LNG project’s first train is 28% complete, as structural steel has been erected and installation of underground piping commenced.

 

The operator Woodside has said that the project’s second and third trains are 18% and 13% complete respectively, as of January 2026, with concrete foundation work continuing for both.

 

The three train foundation phase of the Louisiana LNG project reaching 22% completion, targeting first LNG in 2029.
“Construction remains focused on the LNG tanks and marine soil excavation in readiness for the commencement of dredging, marine pile installation, and establishing the marine offloading facility.”

 

Woodside also remarked that it has received approval of a five-year property tax abatement for the project under the State of Louisiana’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program.

 

According to the Global LNG Database®, the Australian operator made a positive investment decision (FID) on the 16.5 MMT/Y project and issued a full notice to proceed to the project's main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, Bechtel in April with first cargo is targeted for 2029.
