TotalEnergies has named Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) as the preferred bidder for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) of the Central Processing Facility (CPF) and associated well pads for the Papua LNG project.
The ~US$18 billion project aims to produce 6 MMT/Y of LNG from the Elk-Antelope fields in Papua New Guinea.
۩ Key Points:
* Scope: Daewoo E&C will serve as the sole contractor for the CPF and well pads, streamlining execution and reducing interface risks.
* Experience: The contractor previously delivered the first phase of the PNG LNG complex in 2014 and led the project's FEED phase from 2022.
* Next Steps: Final contract signing remains subject to the project consortium reaching a Final Investment Decision (FID), with cost optimization reviews currently underway.
📌 The industry now awaits the consortium's FID, expected once all commercial, financial, and governmental conditions are met.
