LNG Canada and its Joint Venture Participants have officially announced a Final Investment Decision (FID) on Phase 2 of the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia.

The impact is transformational:

📈 Doubling Capacity: Phase 2 will add two new trains, doubling production from 14 to 28 MMT/Y, positioning the facility as one of the largest in the world.

📌 Indigenous Partnership: This decision enables a landmark equity option agreement with MNT Investments LP (representing five First Nations), creating one of the largest Indigenous ownership positions in major Canadian infrastructure.

💼 Job Creation: At peak construction, the project is expected to create up to 4,000 new construction jobs in Kitimat and 2,100 jobs along the Coastal GasLink pipeline, supporting thousands more in the supply chain.

💰 Economic Prosperity: The project is estimated to generate more than $50 billion in government revenues over its life. This decision proves that when governments, First Nations, local communities, and industry work together with shared purpose, Canada can build big things.

Phase 2 is a clear signal that Canada is open for business and ready to supply the world with responsibly produced, lower-carbon energy.
